All of these fish came from NIBbetta. She asked if my Mom would be interested in adopting Thor and showed me pics of the other 3 adults that needed a home and I couldn't help myself... then since I was already getting a box from her I decided to get six of her fry.

I really think the fry are going to take off now that they're jarred. I'm going to try putting them out on my front porch and see how well they grow out there. Or maybe I'll do an experiment and put half out there and half inside and see which do better.

They're getting primarily Atison's Pro, twice daily as much as they'll eat in about a minute.

If its pebbles, then i suggest 2-3 pellets a day.

If its powder you shouldn't use it because bettas have a lot more nutrition in the pellet diet.

Man, I want to cry. But it feels good knowing they have a good home. It was hard going from 18 males to four. Definitely had to make some hard decisions.

And to top it off, my husband is mad I sold one of his favorite fry. I told him we can't keep them all.

I hope you kept at least a few for yourself NIB!

anbu- i would not feed an adult betta fewer than 5 atison pro pellets... They are tiny, maybe only 1/3 the size of normal betta pellets. 5 pellets is barely a bite from some larger males. The typical feeding for 1 inch fry is 5 pellets twice per day. Adults should get 8-12 twice daily depending on size and goals (conditioning, growth, basic care)...

I agree that you should keep at least 3 pairs for yourself to keep the line going. Plus this will help you to see what other changes and improvements it will bring.

Oh man NIB.. I didn't realize you had to get rid of that many fish :( I don't know how I could even begin to do that.

I don't count pellets. I feed until the fish are full and their bellies are nice and round.
