Wow he is very pretty! He has such a big caudal and dorsal! He looks like he can just stick out his dorsal fin like a shark and lurk around lol.

Can you get a flaring picture of him so we can see how long his fins spread?

DID YOU TRY PUTTING A MIRROR IN FRONT OF HIM?

ALSO, iF YOU JUST GOT HIM TODAY, THEN YOU SHOULD GIVE HIM SOME TIME TO SETTLE IN.

Well yea. He is just trying to figure out what is going.

Does he have a lot of hiding spots? Plus i would suggest getting a lot of plants and interesting decor because bettas sometimes get bored of things so when you move things around and put in new things they will be a lot happier and a lot less bored.

He looks like if he flared fully, he WOULD be a HM. Keep trying! I agree with BettaLover2033. He needs more stuff to keep him busy! lol. Just make sure nothing you get can tear his fins!

Well here is a pic of the whole tank (10 gals)
On the right we have my dark red male crowntail Aiden.
In the middle we have my blue/red/white male crowntail Cobalt.
And on the left of course is Blade the blackish/purpleish/blueish halfmoon!
