A Good Tank?

Looking at this tank - http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=4056279

Hey everyone! New to the forum but not new to betta care. I recently took up my job at Petsmart as a petcare associate again and it's really hard not to be tempted into buying all sorts of things for your own pets, especially the bettas. It also doesn't help that your manager sits there with you as you feed them and go "Oh isn't this one pretty? You should get him." The 15% employee discount is evil as well.

Short story is I came home with a new betta. He's currently in a 2.5 gallon tank I had bought previously for my betta two years ago for about a month now. Today while putting away new stock, I found this neat little 5 gallon kit. I've been wanting to update him to a bigger tank but at my store, we sell 2.5 gallons and then straight to 10. I can't justify a 10 gallon for a single beta right now, especially when I'm moving into an apartment for college soon. So finding this 5 gallon was awesome.

Now I know some of my customers have bad luck with some of these aquarium kits that we sell. It's an Aqueon Mini Bow and I don't know any of my regulair customers who owns one to ask how it holds up. So I thought to bug you guys. Does anyone own this tank and is it good? Or if you don't, does it look like something good?

My dad is going to kill me but I can't help but spoil my pets. XD My pair of rats are in a 5 foot tall cage so why not get a huge home for the betta as well!

That's a good tank ^^ I hear the current is strong, so baffle it with aquarium sponge, in the intake and the outtake.

I don't own that tank, but I've heard nothing but good things about that tank.
As bettafish15 said, I've heard the filter is a bit strong, so you will need to baffle it. Other than that, its supposed to be quite amazing.

Alright, thanks guys! I can always grab a sponge from work if I get it. Does anyone recommend getting a tank off of AquaBid? Even with my employee discount it's still a nice $45 so if I could bid for a cheaper one on there, it be cool.

XD I've been stalking this bid trying to decide whether or not to attempt to get it.

For a 5 gallon tank that's available at Petsmart. I like this one better. It's on sale for $30. This one has LED lighting.

The eclipse hexagon 5 gallon is also nice and it's around $40. It's also for sale on amazon with free shipping. This one has a florescent light.

Or you could go with this one from WalMart:

I have the Fluval Spec.
http://www.fluvalblog.com/fluval-spec-up-close/

2 gallons, integrated 3-step filtration with a very low flow (adjustable), all-glass, beautiful design. Picked up a small heater and thermometer and it's the perfect desktop setup for my little buddy, Solstice. I have multiple aquariums, so I cycled the Biomax in my 20-gallon first, then cycled the Spec before introducing Solstice to the tank. He absolutely loves it, and I think it's a very well designed tank that fits with any decor.

Oh god, I completely forgot we sell the Eclipse Hexagon at my store and the Hawkeye looks really nice. Now I'm really tempted! I think I'll try Petco to see if they have that one tank. I know our local Walmart got rid of the fish section when they remolded the place and the closest one is a good 20 minute ride. I have off today so it's shall be dubbed Fish Shopping Day!

Thanks for the suggestions guys! XD My dad is going to kill me when he finds a 5 gallon that has magically appeared in my room.
