I have a bare bottom tank and put the plants in glass vases filled with aquarium gravel. Here is an pic of my 20 gallon, to show you what I mean. I decided against using live plants and replaced them with silk ones.

Sakura, I got my pure ammonia from Ace Hardware.

I don't have any Vases... And honestly I don't feel I can afford the swimming room.

ugh. My girls are not behaving.
Poor Ruby, she was not the best at learning to fit in (Added her on Wed) and her anal fin is torn to shreds. She was hiding under the dragon. We need shock collars for our bettas.

Edit: Rocky, that is both cute and frightening!

Hi Rocky! Guys in drag? Guys in drag who weren't at the Rocky rehearsals?

LionCalie, your tank looks awesome! I have a bunch of tan gravel in Koichiro's tank but that's because it was all I had. I have two bags of black gravel ready to go for the 37g. Ling has nothing but a driftwood and a fake plant. Sorry Ling!

Smellie, I'm so sorry about your fish. :( It's nothing you did, I can promise you that. Some fish are just sickly for some reason or other. Aquabid babies can have weak systems from too much inbreeding and pet store babies spend too much time in that nasty dirty water. No matter what happens, you gave them lots of love and good care for the time they had with you and no betta could ask for more.

Miah, post pics of your tank when you're done. :)

Cat cried all the way to the vet. Go ahead, make me feel even worse than I do now.

IT's instinct. I've only ever had one cat who didn't do that. And he was a sooky boy.

This particular cat is a talker so I'm not surprised she kept it up the entire way. It's only an 8 minute drive for pity's sake.

My cat sees the cage and she freaks out. It's a two man job to get her into it. Mother and I have it worked out. Bring the cage to the bottom of the stairs, I sit next to her, and cuddle for a bit to distract her til mother brings up the cage. I'm holding onto her and getting torn to shreds as we put her into the cage, butt first.

She can REALLY fight. 20 pounds of pure muscle.

I've got one that just spreads out all his legs so you can't force him in. And another who just walks right in if you set it on the floor.

And still another who loses bladder and colon control before we're even a block away from the house. I just loooove taking that one to the vet.
