I haven't put him in water without the salts yet, he started off at 1tsp/g for a week and he's now at 2tsp/g. I didn't really want to move up to 3tsp/g since the 2tsp/g is working but not always working. The 1tsp/g did nothing for him. It might be out last resort though, but he seems to be doing a bit better in the 1.5g.

Usually he gets frozen in the morning and pellets at night (I make it for everyone in the mornings) but my fiance has been feeding him pellets for both meals for the last few days and it hasn't really changed anything as far as consistency of his swimming/floating. I put up a post for everyone to muddle over lol I'm fine with him being like this, only a matter of time before I got a lifer with special needs but if there is something that can make him live a normal life, I'd love to try it!

So, do you think 3tsp/g would be a safe bet?

It's up to you about the 3 tsps. You could try it and see if it made a difference but if it doesn't, then he may need to be kept at 1 tsp for the rest of his life. He's such a cutie. :)

Eee the 1tsp/g worries me, because he didn't swim at all on it. He was always bloated and floating. It wasn't until I moved him to 2tsp/g that he started to swim... just seems like he won't stay unblocked! haha I guess it's time for experimenting. Imagine if I left him there?? Thanks Sakura!

He didn't? Eep. Poor guy. Yeah, then 2 tsps at least for life. I've never kept a betta at 3 tsps for longer than a few weeks but OFL says you can keep them in epsom salts for life . . .

I'm glad you rescued him and I know he's glad too. :D

Well, I'm off to bed or something like that so I'll talk with you tomorrow. Happy New Year, Pitluvs. *hugs* G'night!

Bitterly cold. High near -25F.

Sluggles has been upgraded from the cup to 3/4 gallons in the veggie crisper. He was swimming all around it, well more like scooting then swimming. He still has issues but much improvement . I started him with maracyn2 tonight. And he ate a pellet. I havent seen any poops though...

Coffeehouse chat? I do not like coffee. icky

Jesus Christ, this new girl is freaking fearless. She's like Diablo. She's just chill with everything. So I was changing her cup, I change it 2-3 times a day, and I usually pour everything out, just to get the waste, and she's without water for maybe a couple of seconds before I plop her into the new AQ salt and Stress Coat water. So anyway, today, right after I poured to water out, she decided to hop into the sink 0.0 which Is probably covered in chlorinated water. So I chase her around for a good 45 seconds, and finally pick her up and plop her in. Guess what? Literally seconds after she's in, she's swimming around actively, no clamping. I just put her cup back in the 10 gallon immediately after and fed Diablo the NLS Betta pellets I got yesterday, and I gave her 1 for breakfast. She ate it. And it's wasn't a delayed reaction. She did it immediately.......LIKE A BOSS!!!!!! I seriously am starting to like this baby girl.
