Man if only I had another tank!!! I could have taken advantage of PetCo's ignorence. They had an elephant ear betta marked as an halfmoon plakat. It would have cost $30 less than it should have!!!!
But I was there for a king, and got him, and he's cute!^_^
I talk about how I'm "over" betta but I fear to walk up to them at the pet store because I just wanna take them all home. Trying to widen my fish experiences is hard. :(
Plus our petsmart is getting halfmoons in for the first time. My friend posted a gorgeous yellow crowntail with black spots that she got there. O__O
Why he's a king betta, which means he's a giant plakat! The color is hard to describe kind of dark scales nearer his belly and on his fins and tail and back are like shimmering turquoise. He's pretty young as far as I can tell as he's about the size of a normal betta (about 2 inches) but kings get about 4 inches and sometimes up to 5.
oh okay, i still don't have all the technical names down for them all, but giant plakat, how rad! he sounds gorgeous :) does he have a name yet?
Fern is getting braver. Just watched her chase Lily away from an algae wafer. Cinderella is looking a little rough- her tail and anal fin look very nipped up, but idk who the culprit might be :/
Yeah I'm continuing with the cartoon names, I named him Magilla.:3
He won't be alone in the tank for long as I hope to get a apple snail sometime this weekend. And I've already got a name picked out, you guessed it Mr. Peebles! X3
I *almost* bought a king betta today. He was the only one I've ever seen who wasn't clamped up. But no, I was good. Gonna take down the 3 gal now and put it in storage. And evict the snail. He'll have to go live in the 29.
