poor little guy :(

i think Gigi and Zeddie are kings or giants. they're both huge, and bigger than Reuban, Swish, and the girls.

Yup. Its not as big as I have seen on other males but something puffed up during a flare.

now what was this theory of keeping a male with females?

Nope, no bubblenesting or spawning attempts. No real aggression - mostly it flares and sometimes it does the tail slap thing but the girls just swim away. I guess it could just be a really masculine looking female? No nipped fins since I put them together.

I have tried spawning before - it was pretty brutal. Butterbuns beat the Sh*t out of 2 of my males >.<

Microwave rice: Use the same water/rice ratio, dump it all in bowl. If 1000w power, i just set first stage to 5 mins on high, to get to boil, and 2nd stage to 35 on pwr 7.

Sometimes it may need another 10-15 minutes on pwr 7. Depends what rice you get.. so it usually takes about 40-45 minutes. I dont measure, so thats why the different times.

For dogs, i always add a little more water, and softer rice.

hmm, elsewhere here it says not to use water softened water, because it has too much salt in it. But guess if you havent had trouble before with other fish, then thats not it.

The recommend getting water from outside, before it goes through the water softener.
