Epsom salt won't hurt her. It could be excess slime coat. Just keep an eye on her. :)

Olympia, my fish profile book says they only get up to 16" so you should be fine.

All the monster fish need big food. But Sparky, why, why couldn't you choose to eat beefheart instead of expensive pellets?!?

Okay, Olympics are on so I'm off. Night!
Perfect, because I noticed our water is on the soft end when I check it. Thanks, Sakura.

will do. she's so cute ;-;

also Cinderella was being a spaz earlier. like hiding, then zipping around, then staring at the heater. usually she runs to the front because she loves food.

edit: Oh i've never mentioned it, but Fern looks like she has a scar on the top of her body. do fish get scars?

Shop Style Selections 30"H x 24"W x 14"D Steel Freestanding Shelving Unit at Lowes.com

Would this be okay for two ten gallon tanks if we left out the middle shelf? I'm bad with dimensions. It says the maximum weight per shelf is 250lb

Edit: And what about this one if we left some shelves out?

Edit II: If these aren't good, could someone direct me to some tank shelves that are?

I have a 20G on those shelves and that has to weight at least 200 or more pounds with everything in it.

EDIT:
I have this one or one similar to it as mine can only take 250 per shelf not the 350 this one says
I know its 36 inches long becase the 20G is 30 inches long and it takes up almost the whole shelf

Spike's tummy looks like it hurts. A few hours ago I peeked at him from above. The scales on his fat tummy are poking outward. I turned his light off to give him an early night and plopped a towel onto the tank for a complete black out.
I hope this helps him rest easily and he will eventually poo. I also found some of the algae tablet. It appears that Spike ate atleast half of the tablet.

ETA: how long can it take for a betta to poo? I just took a peek and his stomach does not appear to have gone down any.

Okay Mocha you're officially a freak. I woke up to her flailing under my bed. She got under there but got stuck and couldn't get out. I had to lift up the bed. Wtf dog...

Was looking at those humongous foods at the pet store... The kind that come in a bucket, not a tin. And the bucket was 1.75lbs and cost $40, while my tiny little 119 gram tin cost $10, so actually a great deal. Wonder how fun feeding time will be.

Spike's tummy doesn't appear to have gotten smaller this morning. When should I really start to worry about his pigginess?

Also, any tried to feed their pleco green bell pepper? I put in a small piece in the tan He seems interested in it. I also put in a small lettuce leaf if he's interested.
