Do you like pristilla tetra? They can do the cycle. A group of 6 in 75 gallons should be good to go.

Bubbi, is it the shrimp who has stringy poo or a betta? If it's shrimp . . . I dunno. I just don't know anything about them. :(

What about leopard danios or pearl danios? Or longfin danios?

Mollies would be hardy enough.

Come to think of it, when I had ghost shrimp, I don't remember being able to see their poo at all. o.O

So I had to put my king betta in a breeder's net with the girls in the hospital tank. He had a few ich spots on his fins and since I have all the snails in his tank, no treatment in there. I hope he doesn't jump out but mostly I hope the girls don't get too eggy now that they're finally starting to perk up a little.

Olympia, I think I might get a trio of haplichromis sp. "flamebacks" for the 20gal. They're supposed to be pretty peaceful.

I may stick with the Mollies.
The longfin danios won't get nipped at by the girls?

So how does this sound:
11 female bettas
6 cories
4 otos
3 dalmatian mollies
3 marble mollies
3 sailfin(or silver or lyretail) molles

ETA: will those otos eat my plants?

Sounds good to me. The mollies won't get nipped by the girls. More likely the girls will get chased by the mollies. And no, the otos won't eat the plants. Even if they are starving, they won't eat plants. Trust me. Mine never did.
