Redtail catfish don't get NEARLY as big in in aquariums as they do in the wild, Sakura...
I love these guys, blue whale catfish. My LFS has them all the time. But seriously fish says they need a 70 gallon species only tank as they like to take bites out of fish, even huge fish. They do it in the wild too.
(yes, we all know I'm attracted to ridiculously ugly fish for some reason.)
Edit: WOAH. Just went onto bettafish.com. Where did all these categories come from?!
lol I was going to say.. That fish is kind of ugly. But there's a heart for everything out there! lol The ugliest fish I have seen here are oscars. Oscars aren't even that ugly but them and giant koi are the freakiest fish sold in stores here. IT seems the lps's market for kids. All of them. With thier kid themes and stickers and cheap colorful fish.
I dunno, Olympia. 55, maybe? Sakura, does Sparky ever actually.....send out electrical charges? Or is it like Black Ghost KnifeFish, where it sends out tiny currents to find food and see its surrounding and stuff?
Diablo, oh yes. He sends out electrical charges that give quite a jolt. He only does it when he's stressed or scared and I've managed to stress or scare him at least twice now. o.O So far, it hasn't hurt. Just really startles me.
Olympia, I actually really like that blue whale catfish. It's pretty!
Why do we both like fish that need huge one-specimen only tanks?!?!
Well you could have a group of those, they're not aggressive to their own species.
But yea, they look nice, in a weird way. If I could just have as many tanks as I want I'd get some, but 70 gallons is a lot of real estate in my limited resources.
