tiki, yes they make the ice packs in several sizes and they arent expensive, I thought they would be much more! I think under 2 dolls. oh duh, thats heaters, sorry. Hmm good question.
I leave gal water in pickup cab and its warm to the hand, not as hot as the ones I leave in the sun that are really hot...need cool added to use for bath!
I think most packages hit a sort facility, and sit there till sorted, inside and out. Then are sorted and loaded, and leave, and hit the next place.
I think inside a mail truck, the big ones, they have boxes and mail all around, and not so hot, as in the cab of my truck, lol.
I know all mail collected at my po, is inside till its loaded on the trucks and goes to the 'big city' for sorting.
They say not to write live on the box as well meaning postal workers can put by air conditioner, or the heater thinking they are helping, when they are actually cooking or freezing. o.O
