Sakura, what size is the tank with the snails? I read that 7 yoyo in a 180g tank worked out well, but in small tanks, like 20, its best to us snail traps?
Traps equal: lettuce, weighted to go to bottom, put in at night taken out at am, or even a small tub with food inside and hole so the snails can get in, and then dumped in the am.. said some will get out before you dump it, but still will work?
Sorry if you already know all this... as now I feel silly mentioning it...
Goldie filters, yes sponges for poo! but to work needs lots of circulation so it doesnt settle
Im procrastinating... im still so tired from the stress of this weeks excursions.
No, sponge would work great. Mechanical and biological filtration, plus aeration from the bubbles. But it'll need to be a big sponge.
Aahnay, yeah, it's a 20gal. I read that any loach of the botia species will eat snails. *glares at dwarf botia loaches* I can try the snail trap. The snails are pretty small and some are just white specks on the glass. (okay, more like about 100 white specks on the glass). I don't know if a snail trap can catch a snail that small but I can try. I know fostersmsith.com has snail traps. Wouldn't mind the snails if they'd just stay off my plants!
Get the pro V. I can guarantee you it will be honking huge and hard to hide, though. Yup, just attach an airpump with checkvalve to them. Sink them, squeeze once or twice to get the air out and they'll sink the rest of the way on their own.
yeah you can use a power pump to run them or just air pumps, and yep, many different sizes.. Get one big one and the add multihoses...
its bigger than the one in sakurus pic, those loaches look like snakes...er to me, its the coloring. Ive had several snake encounters ok, not several, but many, many, many... I should be terrified by now, but mostly i still like them..
I got that sponge filter to put on the bottom/entrance to the biofilter im making. But cant seem to find a suitable bpa free plastic bottle of the right size..
