I went to a local Celtic festival over the weekend, and I still have one of the songs played there stuck in my head. I think I'll try to figure out what it was.

Call me crazy, but I love the sound of bagpipes being played (properly of course, if they aren't, then they sound like timid woodland creatures being tortured).

that's not crazy. any instrument played properly, and in tune, by someone who knows what they're doing and all that stuff, sounds pretty amazing. except most renaissance instruments are really pretty crappy sounding lol.

That reminds me of when I took music history and we were studying those old, old instruments. I liked the hurdy gurdy, and no one else did. Lol. I like Renaissance music.

the melodies and songs are usually great yes. the actual instruments sound kinda gross lol.

heh hurdy gurdy. we got to study all those too. i don't remember the website, but my prof showed us this website with a whooole bunch of renaissance instruments.
