Mom was just like "Remember you're not replacing those. Right? Right???"

So the dwarf loaches I put in to eat the snails that were eating the plants are now digging UP the plants. *facepalm* Every morning I find a stem floating.

When I rearranged the tanks a few weeks ago i said i wasn't going to replace my females. Now I'm like...I dont know....I'll give it a few weeks in case it was a mysterious illness like fish TB or something weird. I could honestly see nothing wrong with her except loss of color and suddenly laying on the bottom...I don't wanna lose more fishes i'd be absotively bummed.

Probably an isolated thing. It's so hard with fish because they can be harboring some internal disease and we never know about it until they die. :(

It is a terrible feeling to lose a fish. I really hope you don't have an outbreak of fish TB.

Sakura, loaches are notorious for digging up plants! Those adorable little buggers come with all kinds of antics. Rearranging your tank is just one of them! ;)

if it is, then I'll toss the ten gallon, get a new one, and put Zeddie in /that/ and Swish and Reuban will have their own 5 gallons...but I seriously hope my other girls are gonna be okay.

i hope it was just her though, whatever disease she had. i noticed she was hiding a little yesterday or the day before, but it was just today after work i saw her having issues on the bottom. Idk the other girls are being their normal spunky selves.

But . . . but how will I keep the snail population down without the loaches?!?! Stupid assassin snails, if they'd just done their job instead of dying . . .

Peach was lucky to have you though, Bekah. She really was. :)

EDIT: Bekah, I can't imagine why you would have TB. Your water, frankly, just isn't dirty enough and the conditions aren't overcrowded. In short, you take too good of care to get a nasty outbreak of TB!

I went on a snail killing spree last night. I turned out the lights..waited about an hour or so and turned em back on...tons of snails appeared on the glass and on the plants...I used a pair of chop sticks and started snatching them up and putting them all in the rainbow cichlid's tank{ they love to eat them}...I bet I got 100+ snails out. I tried it again tonight and only got a half dozen snails..didn't see any more other than the trumpet snails and my apple snails{which I want in there}
