Xenxes feed his bee pollen sometimes. Be Prepared it floats all over the tank!

I'm worried there won't be enough stuff in the tank, the snails are ravenous.

One cat and a fish. But I haven't broken anything yet although I did burn my hand on a heater.

I don't think even cichlids can eat MTS. Those shells are crazy hard. Even puffers can't eat them.

Olympia, do all snapping turtles have terrible tempers? I want something that gets big. I looked at a book of tortoises and they were all like 8".

Taking the above-ground pool out. It's actually sunk halfway in the ground and surrounded by brick so it's a bit of a chore and the temp is still in the '90's. It's the middle of September, weather, get with the program!

Should be moving sooner than I thought, construction on the house will begin maybe next month. Maybe even by the end of this month.

Silver, you could always grow your own infusoria to supplement what the plants have. Fill a mason jar with tank water, toss in a bunch of plant clippings and anything green you can think of. Stick it somewhere that's not too cold or too hot for a week or so. When you hold it up to the light, you should see little clouds of stuff moving near the top. When you unscrew it and sniff it, it should smell like mown grass. If not, it's bad. Just add a cupful or two to the tank every day.

Alternatively but a little messier is to just float a lettuce leaf in the water. It'll cultivate infusoria too.

I lost 2 fishies in less then 24 hours :(

How do I stop shell erosion if cuttle bone, calcium suppliments, zuccinie aren;t working?
