Turn on the Weather Channel and you'll see just how bad it is. Virginia is getting a rather mild hit compared to New England coast.

I'm a huge storm fan. I was really looking forward to this one, but I think I'm too far west to get anything more than light rain. All the schools were closed today and will be tomorrow. I think work will be cancled as well, a lot of hype for nothing.

New York is pretty much underwater...5 people confirmed dead due to Sandy. That's really sad. I hope everyone stays safe.

The wind and rain are starting to pick up here but on the TV they just said there are many power outages about 30 miles south of here.

A crane on top of a 90 story high rise snapped and is just dangling in manhattan.

My brother lives in lower Manhattan. I know he was expecting to lose power. Last I heard, his roommate tweeted that he had his accordion and was ready for the power outage. They're on the 6th floor so they should be okay water-wise.

85 might be too warm for assassins but then again, they're hardy little buggers. They should be able to tolerate that for a short time but in the long run, it might shorten their lifespan.

I haven't been to a party in maybe 15 years? Wait, no I take that back. About four years ago, I went to a Christmas party only because my brother and his friend were going too. I wouldn't have gone otherwise.

Oh yup. CNN says power out from 39th street on down to the tip. My bro is East 5th Ave and A. Enjoy your accordion, Nick.

EDIT: Tiki, they said they have the street below cordoned off but if it breaks free, the winds could blow it a good 4-5 blocks.

Thanks, Choc. He might get cold but he should be fine.

Olympia, sorry about your sparkler. :( Mouth rot or an injury?
