Yeah, bettas are a lot of maintenance, and a lot of money lol

@sakura
Since you liked my Jewel betta cichlid so much I took a photo of it without flash, depending on the angle you see it + it's angle to the light there is more blue.

the mini siphons at petsmart were like $5 last I saw, but not sure if that was just a sale and it's over now or what

Copper, he's so gorgeous! I can see why you definitely had to bring him home. You must have one colorful tank with all of the cichlids in there.

A mini siphon. That would be good, easy to store.

i just wish i could have more fish in with my kids without worrying about coming home to a slaughterhouse. Roxie butchered 2 otos, Elvis and Louie shredded countless ghost shrimp, Zen's so big he'd probably scare a tankmate to death.. not sure how Simon would react, he's so skittish..

Ah yes, I remember the great shrimp massacre . . . limbs and eyestalks everywhere. Didn't the otos think Roxie was one of them because of her stripes and try to school with her?

they're really slow, but I had Jazz actually swim up into mine without harm except being a little scared after I freaked out and pulled it away from him

Slow is good, gives you time to react. I had Sherman swim up and through my medium one and he still hasn't forgiven me for his little ride. *down on knees* I'm sorry, Sherman, I'm sorry!

By the way, guess who hasn't pooped in weeks but drops a cannonball two minutes after a water change? Sherman!

Yes, they do. I also bought him a nice betta hammock to sleep on since it's so hard for him to swim up for air with that big tail of his. And what does he do? Sleeps on the bottom of the tank. I feel like I'm being taken for granted. *sniff*
