Bekah, a pic and maybe I can tell. But if it's largely concentrated in the belly, kind of right between the ventral fins, it's usually a tumor or growth of some sort. :/

I had one Ph test strip left and the tap was either an 7.8 or 8.4
is there a liquid version? I cant tell what colors the strips are yet the 20G is either a 6.8 or 7.2

and I woke up to a bunch of plants floating *glares at overgrown snails*

Where is the mail- I want my aquaclear filter! Do I keep it for my 20G with snails and eventually 2 plecos OR give it to the goldfish that are also in a 20G but have a filter rated for 15G. I'm thinkin the plecos like strong current and poop alot but the bettas don't like the current. I feel that my sister can buy her own filter since I bought the stupid tank. It's for up to 70 gallons
