Bettas, choc has a good point. Most pet store bettas ARE past prime breeding age. That doesn't mean they can't be used but it does mean the risks go up. In fact, some pet store bettas were probably used for breeding and once they passed prime breeding age, were shipped off to the stores. Sad but true.
I have loads and loads of pond snails in Sparky's 55gal and just as many in my 29gal so plenty of snails. The hard shells help wear down the puffer's teeth. Otherwise, you actually have to sedate them and clip the teeth down.
There once was a time when I couldn't WAIT to listen to Christmas music and I'd throw on my Boston Pops Holiday at Pops album the moment the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade ended. Now . . . I'm not even sure I'll bother to download Christmas songs onto my iPod. I hate you, commercialism. You ruined Christmas.
