There are a lot of factors in how long a betta lives. I think it would be amazing to get 3 years out of them, let alone 8!
Oh... Yes. sticking your fingers in the bars of the cage warrants a bite! lol I know this from my sister's first 2 rats. I thought she wanted to smell my nose through the bars and OUCH I got bit!! From then on I was very cautious with small animals in bar cages! lol Maybe your hand smelled like food or something she wanted to taste?!
was not hungry but i made mushroom soup because i was feeling nauseated from not eating. i feel better, and the soup tasted really good. still just sitting around and feeling miserable though. i should finish my art project i started a week ago.
Kinetic- Only the roborovskii hamsters need sand baths, it is completely optional with the others. I have never given sand baths to anyone. lol
Sakura- Thanks. :) So are your ratties! I like the ferretnation cages. I am a little worried about inflamed gills in my new platy. -.- She looks like she has little reed blistered cheeks. She is way more active than my other platies. Almost, rasbora-ish in behaviour. lol
I wish they had an average life span of 8 years. My chinchilla has the possibility of living for 30 but that's pushing it. Supposedly they live longer if they have a companion. Petco says they max out at 8 years
So I signed up for an ornament swap on one of the pony forums. The goal is to spent $20 on your partner and the main gift needs to be a chrsitmas tree ornament. My partner would like to have most of the budget spent on one nice ornament and some cheaper items as oppsed to many cheaper ornaments. So like where do I look for these besides etsy and ebay? I don't want to wait for it to be shipped here.
My new red guy is considered a cull because he has some issues with his fins, I think. She called it a Nemo flipper. He also has swimbladder issues that can be controlled by diet and feeding several small meals a day. I normally feed my fish 1 meal a day.
