Fishy, I've learned the hard way: cats have to eat. If they don't eat anything for even as little as three days, their livers can start to fail. :( This is what happened to my old girl Kelsey. She ended up on a feeding tube. If she hadn't had so many other things going on, she might have made it.
I read that rats swim really well. So why am I tempted to toss Delilah into my 20gal to see her swim? I bet she'd be cute. But of course, I won't. She does, however, love to lick water off my hands and arms if I've had them in the tank.

EDIT: Bettas, pond snails are the ones who typicall hitchhike in on plants and in bags of pet store water.
