Oh my gosh im so sorry to hear that madmonahan woohoo for mr. Grump though i would be so sad if anything happened to Sushi when my first betta died i was out of bettas for something like 2 months i didnt mean to get back in either but than i found Sushi i really hope they all pull through.

Can you use soil or natural clay as a substrate? And is moneywort a beginner plant? If so i fail at live plants i killed 3 or 4 stems out of the 8 i got and the other plant nearly lost all its leaves. But planted tanks looks so natural... i want more, i would really like some easy to care for short plants, any ideas?

I'm so sorry, Mad. :( *hugs*

Fishy, the key to using just plain sand with plants is to make a bed at least 3-4" deep so everything has enough to root in. Swordplants especially require very deep beds because they have a big root spread. If you use an iron supplement like Seachem Flourish Iron, you should be okay without having to use root tabs.

I want to shop but I am broke.

if you want you could try the rubber band on the wrist if you actually think you have a shopping problem. Whenever I get a lot of money and dont know what to spend it on I go to the store and see whats there. That's why my extra money is in a glass jar with a glued on top I need computer parts.
