Hey Oly!!! Question for ya, My HOB is rated for up to 75 gallons, 350gph. You think my 4-5 goldies and 2-3 dojos will be fine with it and a bunch of plants like hornwort, anacharis, wisteria, java fern, java moss and maybe some swords?

I would get a canister filter to supplement that. What I learned from my stint is that they need at least double filtration, even better with triple. I had my 3 baby koi (all the size of a 4" common gold) in a 55gal with a canister filter rated for 100gal. It wasn't enough.

Besides, you can never go wrong with more filtration.

EDIT:

LOL. I wonder how I do it too. And on top of that, I want a dog. And a horse if I could.

hhhmmm...maybe double thinking the goldies. I have everything put together already. I don't feel like hauling the lid BACK to mom n dads just to jig saw off another spot for a HOB and being so close to the finish, I don't feel like another DIY project :P

And convicts breed worse than mollies.

Wait, you said you already have a HOB filter? Then you just need a small hole for the hosing from a canister filter to go with it.

I think I need to get rid of my congo tetras. Somehow.

Allergies are nasty to life :(

My ostracods seed shrimp things are back to life. These things fascinate me.. I did throw out the old carbon filter in my water jug though. Scared to death that mystery bugs will grow in it. Irrational, I know, but this assassin snail tank has grown planaria and seed shrimp out of nowhere so I don't even know anymore.

Listening to quirks and quarks online and they mentioned Queens university and I was like OMG! Plus they are discussing the oil sands so it's interesting..
