They are a lot of work and I'm very lazy. You can't tell in the pics but there is so much dead plants in the tanks. xD I can't keep up with the plants so I just let them do whatever they want. In the 20 gallon every water change I press all the moss and anacharis into the back but it always comes back. I'm weird and don't like throwing away good plants so this is happening.

Male sparkling gourami:

Baby sparkling gourami (hope these guys pull through, they are so darn small):

The new halfbeak, she's awesome:

I wouldn't give up Laki.. :p IME the most important thing is a good light..

lol I "tossed" my tanks out because they're not as pretty as yours!!
Ooh, I like those sparkling gourami's! Though I think I prefer larger gourami's with the feeler things. How many babies did you get? If it survived in the pet store I bet it will thrive in your tank!
OH that's a halfbeak, that's also pretty cool!

I got 4 babies so now I have 7 gourami in there.. The two males were fighting so I'm trying to disperse aggression (on these poor babies!:( )
They sorta have feelers..

You could maintain 1 male and 2 girls in a densely planted 5 gallon if you wanted.. They stop at 1 inch. They are more delicate than the bigger kinds.

The halfbeaks rush over and bite my fingers if I put them in the tank.

o-o don't tempt me. I am at capacity with this other 2.5 set up on my desk. If one sparkling gourami would live in it....

Ok! I thought so too. I don't want lonely fish, a glimmer of hope existed for them to be solitary like bettas. nbd.

Sakura, lure her with food. Is she used to your scent? Because you could lure her into a ball or basket or something with carrot or peas. Or apple, raisins or even banana. The trick is to give her a piece so she knws its tasty and wants more, then lure her out far enough so you can put your hand behind her bum preventing her from darting.
