UGH! I think my 75 gal's heater busted!
I hoped it would hold out until the new one got here. Poor heater has been working over time. I'm deff gonna trade it in for a new one. The cold weather was causing it to work that much harder to maintain temp. I imagine 2 200Ws would do a better job and work less than just 1 200W.

Did you buy it new? Maybe you could return it? Or contact the manufacturer?

The guy who bought my assassins just then (sweet old man) is buying shrimp from the same guy I am! Ack, small world! They say everyone in Newfoundland is separated by 3 degrees.

Aw, I hope my assassin snails do ok in his tank. Now I miss the little brutes.

I've already contacted Aqueon earlier about the "bubbling" she's sending me out a new one. But since this one JUST appears to have busted, I would imagine 2 would be better than 1 this time of year.

BUT I just saw it turn on. Do you think the position of the heater can affect how it heats the tank? I "uprighted" the heater yesterday. Before it was diagonal.

Those strings?? Yep. That stringy algae attacks my hornwort and some salvinia pretty regularly.

not sure if it's algae or diatoms. I never see any on the salvinia in the shrimp tank. Reason, shrimp noms!

I HATE spring. It needs to either go back to being winter (hello Texas, it's still January) or go ahead and skip straight to summer like it's supposed to. I've been sneezing my brains out all week, and it's so bad now that the sneezes are tickling my throat DX I have a feeling I'm going to get another bad upper respiratory infection this season D: and allergy meds do nothing for me.... gahh *ACHOO!*
