I think a paradise fish would rather kill a betta than breed with one.

many people say they are peaceful but need 40 liters for each male. to be peaceful they need lots of hiding places.

They are aggressive to other anabantids though.

Same here.. I dug out my headphones. He's loud! But very cute. The bird and small animal rescue here is after getting in quite a few tiels this year. I'd say they're part of a cheaper-bird-to-buy phase and all get dumped on the rescue when their people get sick of them. Also, I never heard a tiel "talk" before!!
