The sisters are gone now. S.I.P. Sheer & Moltres.

I hope you pull through Olympia! Gee, sickness is spreading like wildfire now! At least there aren't as many cases for the Mycobacteria as before..

I'm soooo worried about shocking the TWO fry I have left. I had to take twelve from a breeder who had to quickly get rid of her fish, some died during transport, some just died. Uhh. Wish me luck. My system- (these fry are more sensitive then other types.)

I went and rinsed the whole thing. I didnt want to. But the grinding was driving me NUTS. Didn't scrub/let my cycled sponges/ceramics alone. After all that rinsing, it started grinding even louder!

I googled and read that people experienced the rubber ends of the impellers to wear down and the impeller moves deeper into the motor, thus creating the grinding noise.

I've still got plans on a canister filter. Looks like it'll be bigger than I planned and I'll be chucking that HOB.

Yeah, I know it was the sand since it started once I dumped more water into the tank but with this filter, I cant reach the impeller. It happens all the time with the Tetra 10i's but those, I can take apart and the impeller is right there. I am either going to get an aqueon quietflow for them or get an tetra 40g internal filter for the 20G and put their aqueon filter in here. I really need stronger mechanical filtration in the 20G with the snails and plecos but there isn't enough space for a larger HOB - so it has to be an internal filter.

or maybe since the 10g is divided 3 ways, I'll go with 2 small sponge filters for the end compartments.

I also have a case of sick illness - not sure what is going on. Zecora died and I have no idea why. She was clamped and then started floating at an odd angel. No idea what was wrong and opal essence is huge but not yet pineconning and acts normal. She is floating in a cup with kannaplex and metrodozinal...
Ba singe se is floating with his head at the surface and lethargic - trying triple sulfa on him. No other symtoms - just lethargic and floating with his mouth at the surface...he can't be cold, he is in a divided 10G with a heater.

what is going on with out fishies?
I seem to have a thing for having random, unexplainable illnesses that linger on...

speaking of random lingering illnesses, Tanagora has inally unclamped after months, put weight back on and his fins are regrowing...
Why? No idea - I put him in a storage bin with snails and a filter and he improved.

Sickness is in the air.
It's alright. It's unbelievable that so many members here have sick fishes.

So i'm doing a tub/outdoor mini pond thing this summer. Gonna breed something, probably livebearers or maybe even angels if i cull heavily. We have this cement wash basin in the garage that's been there since we moved in. Gonna clean it up, line it, turn it into a cool mini pond, grow tons of plants, and have bbies!
