My mum understands because she has her dogs. My pa understands because he has hobbies. My dad, does not understand at all.

I find if someone doesn't have a hobby that they are really into, they tend not to understand other people's hobbies.

When I talk about my fish to my family they just smile and nod.

Haha and back out of the room very slowly while smiling and nodding?

I am lucky in that my mum likes fish. She is springing for a 140 gallon tank for the goldfish, and for a pair of wild bettas for herself. So it's not so bad.

My dad on the other hand comes around, taps on the glass of my tanks and bemoans the fact that all my fish are 'too small'.

XD They may or may not slowly back out of my room lol.

No one in my family cares about fish but they feign intrest to be polite, though my sorority is in my brother's room and he constantly threats to do something to them if I do the littlest thing to make him mad.

I took my fish to Petsmart today. One of the cashiers took them home. I miss them so much already. :(

Oscars are gorgeous and apparently have as much personality as a betta! I'd love one, it'd just need a great big tank

My brother has 2 albino oscars. He loves them and I love them. They're a lively bunch. Like little doggies. They follow you back n forth across the tank. IDK if it's true for all albinos, but he has to keep them in low lighting, their scales will get a pinkish hue like they were sunburnt.
