I'm not sure how, but GoJo's tank just spiked with Ammonia -.-
Maybe it has something to do with rinsing my media/rearranging decor? I usually don't rinse my media because bettas just don't make that much mess.

I think if you rinse media with water that has NOT been dechlorinated, it kills good bacteria

It was rinsed in a bucket of the tank water I had siphoned out. Is it possible to rinse too much?

Nooooooo. All that BB getting swished out of the sponge is good. I like to think of blowing on a ball of baby spiders and watching them all spread out and that's what I think of when BB is getting swished off filters.

hi all back from work was a busy day. ended up bring my nephew home when i was off thinking his allergies are acting up and it doesn't help he is not taking them when he should since they take a bit to kick in.

When you rinse filter media you are not rinsing bb away, you are rinsing away mulm. This is a really good thing though. Remember at the bb are transparent and live directly on the surface of the media. It is not possible to rinse too much if you do it in dechlorinated water.
