I need a new betta, I havent had one since Sushi and my tank is now just a lonely algae eater... oh no, I need to make sure he's still alive, I'll be right back.

I'm thinking of volunteering at one of my local shelters. Hopefully this will give me some experience and show my parents how responsible I can be :)

Would you guys recommend a full on restarting the tank or just a bunch of water changes and scrubbing equipment that sort of thing?

That way I can satisfy my pet needs and learn at the same time until I can get a bunny, lol.

@bettasareawesome, I would recommend scrubbing and a lot of cleaning first, but if it doesn't get better, then maybe a new set-up would be best.

what should I use to scrub? And should I scrub the tank walls or just equipment?

I'm agonizing over getting a third betta. I'm also agonizing over the fact that he would be in a one gallon bowl on my desk, even if it is going to have live plants and would be getting WC's at least 3x a week. Considering it would be a Petco betta, I know that's better than what it's in right now, but seriously... all the agonizing is giving me a ridiculous headache. :(

I just keep dreaming about red veiltails... AUGH. And I have no motivation to do anything but fish related activities! DOUBLE AUGH. HELP.
