So question... if it were up to you guys. Would you buy a CT male and a CT female from AB to breed or would you buy a HM dragon male and female pair from a local breeder? I am wanting to breed but I need to make sure it will be a type of Betta that will sell. I am unsure if people here would buy CT, as they are not as "pretty" as the halfmoons. But on the other hand, halfmoons are not my favorite fish either. I gotta decide soon, as I am getting my HM boy, I could ask for a female as well. The cost is huge difference too, the HM would be much cheaper. But I personally love the CT. Blahh!

If you plan to breed and sell them I'd go with Halfmoon's since there's a higher demand for them, and it should be easier to find homes for all the fry. But personally preference is very important, you don't want to be bored by your fish.

I put him down. Wish I would have done it sooner, since he now suffered needlessly all day. I feel sick to my stomach about it. But now he's at peace. :*(

There may be a higher demand for halfmoons in the Betta community and online, but I live on an island where there are not many Betta owners like us. The only thing we can buy here is VT's. The odd CT gets through apparently. That's why it's so hard. I would be scared that the uneducated person here would see a HM as a flashy VT and nothing special. Or they could think the CT is ugly... lol

I may go with the HM just because it would be easier to get one sent along with the male, and it takes a day to get here (10am-5pm). She's quite a distance away and sends on bus.
