Fear of... a thermometer?

So Genesis is on his second day in his new tank. He spent both days rather clamped, and either resting under the filter (it's off), or on the bottom in a corner. He'd only move between those 2 spots, and to go up to eat/get air.

Well, today, I watched him ram the floating thermometer I had pressed against the tank fairly hard (enough to push it away from the side of the tank), and then proceeded to flare at it.

I took it out about 5 minutes ago, and he's swimming around now, checking out the mug I put in for him, checking out his plants, and he's already unclamped a little bit.

...Was my silly little boy afraid of his thermometer?

Your silly boy is kinda derp :P Id say he very well could be. If so, just let him sweat it out and get used to it :D
