not sure...help

My moms betta has been having trouble, hes sitting at the top and barely moves looks a tiny bit bloated, been going on for a day or two, bought him an entire new tank today (marineland 3g) but havent moved him yet, he has a heated tank that is cleaned often..... changed water yesterday gave him revive today will doo another change today please help!!!

Has he been eating? And has he been pooping? (disgusting topic, I know) If he's constipated, it could affect his swimbladder, leading to Swimbladder Disorder. Anyway, if you could find and fill out the sticky that would be great. The more info, the better we can help you.

Thanks for filling out the sticky. You obviously take good care of your guy. My next question is how many pellets do you feed at a time? I'm concerned that your guy may be constipated. If he is, that can affect his swimbladder and cause him to float at the top like he's doing now.

I suggest you put your guy in a small barebottom container (the cup he came in from the pet store, if you bought him, is good or anything of like size). In a 1g container, mix 1 tsp of epsom salts with dechlorinated water. Pour that in his barebottom QT container and put him in. You can float this container in his regular tank so he stays warm. You'll want to change the water every day and continue this for 10 days. Keep an eye out for poos.

I hope he gets better soon.

Oh, I always forget. Put some plastic food wrap over the top of his container and poke a few holes in it. This will keep the humidity in and also keep him from jumping out. Always forget that part.

Is there any way I can do salt bathes without moving him containers? Cause its my moms fish I have 5 bettas of my own, all of them are in individaul tankgs ranging from 2.5-10g all filtered heated aswell

You can do the salt in the tank he's in, the 1.5g. Remove any gravel that you have in there, if you can/want, so you can see if he's pooing or not. Best of luck.

thanks so much i will do an epsom salt bath tommorow (since i just did the revive i dont wanna stress him even more) and will do frequent water changes hope he makes it! thanks

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that, poor little guy. You took good care of him, changing his water so often. But bloat and swimbladder and all that can be hard to reverse somtimes. Better get your mom a new one soon.
