I couldn't say no. :p

As some of you know I have been starting to get my tank together, but am far from finished
Well yesterday I went into PetSmart to get some toys for my chinchillas and thought "Eh might as well see the bettas"
I wasn't impressed with any and barely glanced at the crowntails (I'm not fond of them at all, sorry to those that are!) but amidst them was this one "typical" betta.
When I first saw him he was at the front and I figured that's just where he stopped to die kind of deal but I looked any way and as soon as he saw my face he did two laps around his cup and stopped at the front to look back at me. I laughed and picked him up to put him with the other ones and he promptly started spazing out in a good way and I figured if he does it when I come back I'll consider it. Especially because while he was pretty he wasn't the colors I wanted.
I did some shopping and came back and he did the same thing and was so inquisitive and had so much personality I had to buy him. Who knew the next time I'd see a fish like that, right?
Right now he is living in a very clean pickle jar with some aquarium gravel and rocks and several plants.
Every time I come up to the jar he comes from the back straight to where my face is and hangs out until I leave then he goes back to the back behind floating plants lol. And seems to really be enjoying the "extra" space of a 1gal compared to his cup.
All in all I'm delighted with how much personality he has! I never expected a fish to be so much fun!
Also I'm doing 100% water changes every day until his 5gal tank is cycled and I have opted for not putting a heater in(the jar) since the smallest I can find is for 2gal and I don't want to fry him. Besides he is really active anyway.
The only food PetSmart had at the time was Omega so I got him some "Color Pellets", freeze dried bloodworms and some freeze dried shrimp (the kind that start with an m, I'm too lazy to go see sorry)
Does that sound good? Is there something else I should be doing?
Here are some pictures, sorry about the bad quality, he didn't want to sit still and the camera wasn't cooperating but here’s the best of what I could get.

Glad you got him, he's adorable. He kinda looks like my fish Spazz.
Thats a HUGE pickle jar, it looks bigger than 1 gallon!

kathstew: Well a gal is what the jar cover thing said but I haven't actually checked it. I hope it's a gal because that's how much conditioner I've been putting in and the levels have been 0

xMandy:The toys were just to tide them over until their new ones that I ordered online came in, they were on their very last stick; literally. But trust me I usually only buy dustbath and food from them.

PS: He made his first bubble nest today. :) I know it isn't a factual sign that he's happy and healthy but it's still exciting!
