some of it broke off as its not as long tonight. I went to look and see what petco had but I did not see any medicated pellets. I'll go look for the general cure tomorrow. I dont recall seeing it.

I'm really not sure if it's good or bad that it broke off. Could it be lymphocystis? I've never heard of it forming in the nose before but I guess anything's possible.

I think the cauliflower look comes if the stuff goes untreated and a lot of it forms, so if it is lymphocystis you'll never see the cauliflower stage because you're a responsible fish owner. The cysts or whatever supposedly bunch together to look like heads of cauliflower or a bunch of grapes. How is she this morning?

I suppose it could be lymphocystis... If that is the case then you need to reduce stress so he can fight it off on his own. There isn't anything available for treating lymphocystis. I would increase water changes to reduce the amount of nitrites in the water, add IAL/tannins, add 1tsp aquarium salt per gal to help prevent secondary bacterial infection... The growth/tumor may shrink on its own...

Personally, I would treat for possible parasites first, just to make sure that isn't the problem. You don't want the medicated pellets since it is external. You want Jungle's Parasite Clear Fizz tablets or API General Cure.

As of today that thing is GONE. No trace of it anywhere on her face. Odd

She did have IAL and had AQ salt with daily water changes.
I'll keep an eye on her to see if anything new develops.

When I saw it was no longer there I did a 100% water change, and added some AQ salt just in case. And washed everything that was in with her.

All this attention certainly has helped her tail fin grow quickly.

You won't be able to call her the tailess wonder for long. I'm so glad that thing is gone and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will never appear again.

Wow, that is strange but awesome. Maybe it was just a giant booger... Or it was lymphocystis/fungus/parasite and your immediate treatment did the job. The world will never know.

She's a lucky girl! It's great that her fin is growing back too :)

I read that the cauliflower thing naturally goes away but it takes 4 weeks?

I tried to get a pic of her fin but she moves too fast. I got a question though. She has 2 black stripes in each side. Is that normal coloring or are they stress stripes? The stripes go through her eyes.
