possible new tank, what fish?

Okay I'm gonna be trying really hard to get a 10gal tank! I have a 2gal right now and due to financial issues, itll be a slow process, purchasing this setup. HOWEVER

when I do, I'll be putting my betta CT male in it, and I plan on trying a couple ghost shrimp (maybe 2 or 3 tops)...what else is really compatible with bettas other than snails? I want to avoid bad things happening as best as possible, because I'm a college student, I wont be there 24/7 to watch them =P

also when I DO get this all set up, itll be moving back and forth from a dorm, what do you recommend is the best mode of transportation for non-bettas, since they dont come in a convenient little cup?

i was debating a froggie! dont cories need 10gal by themselves? id be overstocked with Marbles too, and I DEFINITELY want shrimp

There are certain small varieties of cories that could work. I don't have experience with pygmy cories but some other people on the forum do. I don't know whether julii corries would work.
