Yea there embracing

I put them in together Sunday after i cam home from camping that weekend the male made a huge bubble nest in his vase so i put them together and yesterday when i woke up he has made another bubble nest and they r embracing and still r now but no eggs have fallen yet it is bother there first time but the females white dot on her belly is getting bigger i can wait until eggs start falling. They r playing the chase game right now.

Awesome......don't worry if no eggs drop in the beginning....sometimes it can take several embraces and even if they stop the embrace and chase each other...one or the other may be getting frustrated and this is normal especially with first time breeders...leave them alone and give them time...as long as neither are killing each other or look really tired and panting....all is fine......lots and lots of hiding place will help.......

Is this your first spawn too....

With my first spawn, they embraced 20 times or so before eggs but I ended up with around 140 eggs. The next spawn she released eggs after only 3 embraces, and they had over 400 eggs they're first time too, shows each one can be different.

@Oldfishlady- This is my first time i have done research for over 5 months one side of my tank is full of java moss and other live plants (its a 20 gal tank)

Exciting! Great to see more people in the hobby. Any eggs in the nest? Or possibly fry. (sorry dont know how recent this post was made). How is the pair? Pictures?

There still no eggs and not fry yet :( her tail is getting bad but they still embrace i fill bad because he is mad about tht.

I just went in there to get the pic of the guy and he was being really mean to my female so she had no more breeding bars which changed to stress lines so. He was being mean and biting her and going under the bubble nest and looking on the floor so there might be eggs we will no in a couple lets hope there is.

If they're not done, she will return to the male regardless of the abuse. But if they're done, she will stay away from him.
