Marina Filter?

anyone have any experience with the Marina Slim Filter??? I have a 20g long started, it came with an internal Whisper, but that thing is huge(taking up valuable fish space) and puts out a current that would throw a shark into the wall(not adjustable). Tank is cycling right now with no fish. Petsmart has these Marina Slims 20 on sale for $17.99..just wondering if they are worth it and will be enough for this tank.

Also one more question, also in need of a good reliable heater, any suggestions??

OH and sorry to be a pain, where is the best deal to buy a water test kit, most I've looked at are in the $30 range, is there anything else out there???

Don't have any experience with that filter, but I do own several of the Marina i25 internal filters and LOVE them!!! One thing I have found with them (and the Whisper internals as well) is that you CAN push them all the way underwater and they don't make nearly as much current that way. :)

The Marina series filters are designed for using zeolite to remove amonia/nitrite from the water. They're not cycling filters.
