No, no, no! If I did that it'd get all complicated with having to get a tank with a divider. The college said I can have one tank under 10g, not two tanks around 3-5g. Thanks for the nudge though. It'll be on my mind all day at work tomorrow. Haha.
Just doing my job. And pay no attention to the fact that he'll always be there at work tomorrow, staring at you as you walk past his little cup, fluttering his little fins as if to say, "Hello, how about giving me a lift to your dorm?"
See if you can find the Aqueon 5.5 gallon basic glass tank (looks like the basic 10 gallon, only smaller). That will divide nicely. It's what I'm going to do. Oh, also, the Petco Bookshelf tank divides well. It's 6.6 gallons but 24" long. And you can order that one off of amazon.com or petco.com.
See, he's doing everything he can to get your attention. When you see a little bubblenest message that says "Take me home" then you're doomed.
I was looking at the Aqueon 2.5 because it comes with a divider and a filter, and my Zoo Med heater should work with it, but then I was like "But that's only 1.25 gallons per fish!" and then I was like "But OFL said they'd probably be fine." Dilemmas, dilemmas.
Edit: Oh yea, we sell those! We sell as low down as 2.5 glass aquariums, I want to say. Cute little things.
I loooove the 2.5g aquariums. I have three of them. I just wish they had lighted hoods, too. I can barely see the fish in the two on my dresser. But they're perfect for QT and because of their shape, they fit in more places than some of the weird "designer" tanks.
I think there's a DIY divider thread somewhere, but basically you can make one with plastic craft mesh and a few other things. I've seen them made with plastic picture frames. Otherwise, check amazon.com.
