My hubby's gonna kill me...

After ending up with 4 different tanks in the house, I decided, no more bettas unless I saw specific types that I wanted (dragon, copper, and orchid). All of these are usually pretty rare in my area. Up until last week, I'd only seen a orchid (and I might have been wrong about that) that I didn't get. Last week, I went to one of the local pet stores and found Newf, my copper HM. Very happy me...

Today, I went to a lfs cause I knew they were getting some HMs in, and lo and behold, a dragon (at least part dragon)! I tried to talk myself out of it, but it didn't work, and so I got the little guy, whom I've dubbed Uther. His fins have a few rips, but a little tlc should take care of that.

So my hubby is gonna kill me...

And in his new tank (please ignore the bubbles...the town is doing something with the pipes, so all my water has too many bubbles in it). I'll post more pics once the bubbles go away. Right now, I can barely see him!






Is he a full or half dragon? Can anyone tell me?

I figure he's only part, cause his scales are very 'dragon-y' up around his head and just behind, and then the dragon scales just seem to taper off.

At some point I hope to have a divided tank with two dragons. I plan on calling the other one 'Arthur'. There's a local breeder who has bred some dragons recently, according to the lfs, so I might get one from her. She's the lady who bred my copper HM, Newf.

I think Uther was watching my computer screen while I was scrolling a bit ago. His tank is next to it. lol

You can't really see it in the pics, but his iridescence changes between a pastel green and a pastel pink, depending on how the light's hitting him. I didn't realize it until I got home and walked past a window with the bag in my hand.

He's currently in a 2.5g all to himself, but I need more decorations and something for him to hide in. He's looking a little lost cause he's so small!

I just want to say hello neighbor! Nice to see someone close, we're in Eastern NS here :) He's gorgeous, you are lucky. We don't get Bettas like that here in LPS. But thankfully there is a breeder on the mainland and she has orange copper dragon HM's, and I get second pick! You did amazing!

We just purchased a Red Copper HM on Aquabid. I think we have the same tastes hehe
