Yup, my cockatiels get to travel. They've been to the beach, the walmart, bank, post office, all pet stores in my city, to ice cream shops, outdoor shopping centers... they don't get to go inside the walmart or the bank. If it wasn't so hot here, they'd be going out for some ice cream later today, but too hot for them.

Aww, sorry to hear that about your doggie. We're suspecting that my oldest parakeet Boo Boo was squeezed by someone before we got him because half of his body shakes all the time, and he can't fly. That's how he got his name, 'cause he has a boo boo on his wing.

Max broke his leg at the pet store before we got him so his toes don't point the right way. He has a hard time climbing.

Small parrots aren't very loud, especially in small numbers. One or two parakeets isn't too much noise-wise. I have five birds total so they do compete with the tv, but we built up the flock over a long period of time (over a decade) so to us that's bliss. We can't imagine having a house without birds now. The two we rescued (Romeo and Cvrcak) can barely be heard in their new permanent home. Parakeets tend to make constant noise, but it's very quiet chatter. Cockatiels tend to make noise at certain times of the day, and it's loud whistling.
