Really Worried

Okay my boy keeps getting into the Air pump tube and gets sucked in, I don't know why, this is the second time. Could this be hurting him? How do I get him away from it?

Yes that can seriously injure him... Remove the tube (sorry it's the only way.)

Will he be okay without it though? It makes bubbles, which I guess provides air.

Bettas breathe from the surface... Some bettas don't even like all the bubbles cuz it disturbs the surface so much. Bettas breathe some from the water but mostly from the surface.

Thanks for the help. I took out the pump but left the tube. He loves playing it in. Is this a hazard at all? I mean, I've seen him get out of it easily.

If its an undergravel filter tube he can get trapped under the gravel. A fix for this would be to rubberband some mesh at the opening of the tube and then jam the bubbler through.
