Can I

I'm planning on Upgrading my betta's tank to 10 Gallons. His is Currently 2.5. I'm doing this so he many have a tankmate. Could I move all my old equipment from the 2.5 into the 10?

def. yes. But if your filter is meant for 2.5-5gal, then you will have to do more frequent changes on your 10gal.

I would move everything you possibly can over to the 10gal, and the filter too. I would upgrade eventually. At first the 2.5g-5g is good since it will help your tank cycle (as well as the rocks and such you may move over). Then once everything seems ok, start switching things. I hate when I hear people set up larger tanks with all brand new and new filter :( Keep the good bacteria! And like youlovegnats said, more water changes until you get a good size filter.
