I was at one of the local pet stores last night, talking to one of the guys in the fish department. I asked him if they had any female bettas, and he pointed some out to me (there was a lovely cambodian...but I have no room!!!). We were discussing the female bettas when he pipes up and says "You should have three females per male...that way there's a better chance of babies". I said, "Do you breed them?" And he replied, "Every now and again".
I've decided that I will always ask if any of the store employees bred the bettas in that store, and if so, which one, cause there's another lady who takes really good care of her babies (she's the one who bred my copper, Newf). But if it's him, I'm not sure if I'd buy it, knowing that HE probably doesn't know what types of bettas were spawned.
