Do you have an RO unit? Help please!

I'm pretty sure now that I have 2 larger tanks (37 and 55) I definitely need an RO unit or I will just keep wasting money and time going to the store to get 5 gallon jugs of it.

I bought a 45 gallon trash can to store water in.

So I'm guessing I'll need 50 gpd? How sort of unit should I get, like 2 canister, 3 canister? I'm looking to go as cheaply as possible while being able to fill the can in a day or less. My tap water problem is too high of a ph to breed and raise fry in (8.4) and ammonia in the water. We also have hard water.

Links would be very helpful! Also how you get RO water as an end product, what the process is, etc.
