I would personally get him a corwntail female, so you get crowntail babies and not comb tail/spiky veil tailed babies(I have never crossed a crown and a veil but this is what i've been told will come of it)

Yes they are cool, but do you have homes for the potential 200+ babies? Or are you going to cull them all? It takes a lot of refining to get a good combtail, and even then the tail type is undesirable. Are you prepared to cull 200+ babies if you can't find a home for them? Like veils, most people won't even consider to ship them because their cost (even when free) isn't worth the shipping.

I personally like combtails, but I still wouldn't pay to have one shipped to me. =3 So, nothing against the tail type itself, but I would hate to kill off 200+ potential babies because I couldn't find homes for them, and I couldn't keep 200+ babies either.

For first time spawns I would never expect 200+ 0.o but that just me.
And I would also splurge and get a nice female. Fry tend to take after their mom more then dad so getting a good female is worth it all the way.

I know first times spawns don't usually result in 200+ babies, I'm just making a statement that it could happen, it thats what you could end up. But still first time spawn 30/50 babies is a lot.

I suggest you get a blue CT female instead of chancing crossing to VT.
