Please help im not sure if he is bitting his tail or if its finrot or one of the pants in his tank i just did a water change and added a new plant and its kinda sharp but it looks like he is bitting his tail

I'm so sorry that your fishy's pretty tail is shredded!!! That is always so frustrating!! First of all, you need to up your water changes to one 50% and one 100% every week. Clean water will keep him from getting any infections, and may help him quit biting if that's what he's doing. If he's tailbiting, chunks of the tail will be missing, and little "u" shapes will be cut out of it. If he snagged it on something in his tank, the cuts in the tail will probably be fairly straight. If there is any finrot, the edges of the tail will turn either black or red. Can you post a picture so we can help you more? I hope your little guy gets to feeling better!
