Betta Buddies!

Okay, so I love to spoil my 3 Betta's by giving them live food, blood worms, brine shrimp, wingless fruit flies, yummy Betta paste, etc. But I need to know what are good tankmates for Betta's! I know Betta's are kinda "not social" as some people said, but then I've seen that you can have some tankmates with them! If I do get a tank mate for my Betta's it will be later, because I have Tom & Sara breeding and Shark by himself. And I know 2 males can't be put together so after the breeding I will put the tankmate with Tom. Hope that was clear enough for you...

What size tank....

I have a 5 gal but I may be getting a 10. :/

The 5gal is not big enough for other fish species along with the Betta....shrimp and/or snails will work...

In a 10gal.....a proper school of corydoras, lots of small tetras to pick from that will work in a proper school...however, with mixed species with the Betta-you often will have feeding problems...the Betta usually will pig out and end up sick...not always and sometimes it the other way around and the other fish are too fast and eat his food.......then due to limited space even in 10gal-some Bettas can corner or catch the other species of fish easier and injure or kill them and vice versa.....the other species destroy his long flowing fins......

Go to the pet shop and look at the species of fish you like, write down the names and then research...to make sure you can meet their needs in a 10gal tank housed with the Betta....and its always good to have a back up plan if things don't work out......
