*Cornfused...

Sorry that I just posted a new thread showing off pictures of my new guy, but I can't let this question go... I'm confused about his tail type and that of my Al.

Here is Pongo, the new guy, who was labeled a Halfmoon Plakat

And here is Al, who was labeled as a veiltale female but is actually a male that I thought was traditional Plakat...

Sorry the angle isn't the best and that they aren't flaring.

Pongo's anal fin is longer towards the end but Al's anal fin is more rounded and doesn't have that "pointy" look to it...
Any opinions on what their real tail types are?

The second one looks more like an HMPK than the first one to me! But neither are fully flared, so its kinda hard to tell. Whatever they are, they are both stunning boys!!!! They both have such sweet little faces =)

Hmm interesting. I'll try to get some pictures of them flaring. It's funny that they look so different but could be the same tail type.

They're both HMPK or come from HMPK lines. Traditional PK do not have multiple ray branchings as far as I know.

A true HMPK will have a 180* spread but just like normal halfmoons there are factors that can inhibit spread such as bad water quality and lack of flaring.
