Victory is MINE!

HAZAH! I've been looking for duckweed EVERYWHERE but can never find it.
A few days ago I went to my local Big Als, and decided to see if they had any plants on sale. THEY HAD DUCKWEED.
The sign said "floating plants $5.99"
I was like, kay, cool, I'll pay $5.99 for a plant I can't find anywhere.
I get the lady to scoop it up for me, she says its free with any purchase, or $1.99! So, I decided to get another guppy for my guppy tank.
I ended up getting duckweed for free! SCORE!
Its in quarentine right now, and will soon be able to go in my sorority tank!

HOORAY!

And you make this post after I spent hours yesterday picking out every single leaf of duckweed I could find from my just-purchased clump of java moss xD

Since apparently even one of them getting into the filter results in a takeover... >_<

One person's pest is another person's treasure?

so I went to look up duckweed on google, thinking that surely they can't be talking about the stuff that covers the surface of the water...and you are talking about the same stuff that used to tick off my sis-in-law in her koi and turtle ponds.

so how does a betta live in a tank with duckweed? or is this for a community tank with no surface breathers?

Peeeew, it's so cuuuutee! Like you're banana plant! And it covers the whole surface in like... seconds... so I can finally have an open top tank!

Seriously, OFL has convinced me to set up an outdoor tank, and I want to go topless and use duckweed and tannis.

IT'S SOOO CUTTEEE :3

We used to have a pond with duckweed in it. It covered the entire surface and the ants used it to cross to the other side of the pond :/

LOL. GUYS GUYS GUYS, how can you NOT like it?! Its adorable~

I saw this pic once of a betta peeking his head through the duckweed and it was ADORABLE. Ever since then, I've wanted it. I think my girls are gonna love it! :3

I don't think duckweed makes it any harder for a betta to breathe, they just poke their heads through the leaves. :P

Eeek! I can't wait for it to finish quarantining!
